Newsflash

We've had nothing but a reverse Robbinhood government for so many years that it is time for working stiffs to vote on laws and appropriations instead of who wins American Idol eh. I'm offering you a chance to change your world for the better. If you don't want to give it a try too bad, at least I can say I tried to give peole a chance to participate and have an honest meaningfu say about how this country is run. I'm not doing this so I can be an errogant pig that votes for the money people like the majority of the pompus individuals that run for office; all I want is the same vote you will get if you elect an honest vote counter that follows what the majority of the people who care enough to vote want.

My name is Ken Driessen and I have decided to run against Dave Obey for the Wisconsin 7th US Congressional seat in 2010 as an independent progressive introducing the concept of Direct Participatory Democracy to the nation.  I define Direct Participatory Democracy as: The implementation of a system, within our government, that  will allow every eligible voter a chance to vote on every law and appropriation that “representatives” now vote on. Currently they vote with no accountability of whether or not they have entered a vote that reflects the will of the majority of the people.   In a true, modern day democracy, the most important job of a congressperson should be as a vote counter who insures that the legislation enacted is a mandate of the majority of the people  rather than that of a select few who bought their way into office through a plutocratic system of election campaign donations.   I believe that instead of representing the people of this district Dave Obey represents a small percentage of the population, who became rich because they are infinitely greedy, self-centered egotists. The people who have bought our government have no moral qualms about profiting from war, death and the destruction of the nature of our planet. He does this at the expense of his constituents.  Examples are his votes for the patriot act, bank bail out, war in Iraq while Bin Laden runs free, on and on. He votes as a demolican, republicrat egotistical individual who is allowing our nation to be lead down the road by psychopathic monsters whose only difference from a mafia family or a street gang is they control more powerful weapons.

I first realized that a true democracy was possible through a system that utilizes the Internet and ATM™ type personal identification allowing people to vote on the legislation rather than corruptible individuals around 1996. It took me this long to react because I too had been taught to be seen and not heard and that there is nothing I can do about the powerfully greedy families who profit from sickness and death without raising a finger to help any one, who sell weapons to our enemies dictators and enemies of the people of the planet until they become a powerful enough threat to give reason for selling more weapons to our citizens to defeat the enemy they created.

So I'm running for US Congress for the Wisconsin 7th District. I will not accept campaign donations, zero natta! Running for office without raising money is the only way to stop a government sold to the highest bidder, other wise known as an unconstitutional and therefore criminal plutocracy. I will accept reasonable speaking fees, volutary contributions of labor and services toward making the web site and all other workings of direct democracy as close to perfect as possible. The development of this web site will be a bit of a job. I could use some help getting all the buttons, bells and whistles going; including identifying and registering Wisconsin 7th district voters. I can also use volunteers to get the word out and campaign for our right to vote on laws and appropriations.

Congressional Reform Act of 2010

1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below.

A. Two Six year Senate terms

B. Six Two year House terms

C. One Six year Senate term and three Two Year House terms

2.  No Tenure / No Pension:

A congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

3.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security:All funds in the Congressional retirement fund moves to the Social Security system immediately.  All future funds flow into the Social Security system, Congress participates with the American people.

4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan just as all Americans.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress looses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

 7. Congress must equally abide in all laws they impose on the American people.

 8. All contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective 1/1/11 .

The American people did not make this contract with congressmen, congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work.

Somebody through somebody else sent me this. If I were elected I could back this bill and be very happy with the $174,000 a year salary they make without the life time benefits.  I agree that something has to be done because they buy thier offices and then they pay the people who helped them buy their way in spending the tax payers money. Besides the problem of governemnt of the highest bidder there is no real legitimate way for the people to participate. Does anybody want to participate? If not don't complain.

Direct Participatory Democracy is government by the people of the people and fore the people. If nobody wants to participate then you have nothing to complain about because you have the government you deserve.
